The operating rooms were ready for the crossover transplant of live kidneys: the wife of a sick donor from Varese would have donated for the benefit of a Spanish patient and an organ would have arrived from Spain for her husband.

Contact the editorial staff of Varesenews and explain: "I hope that the situation will unlock itself, they are difficult moments, of great hope and seeing such an occasion fade is really tough".

In these cases it is possible to request a state flight, but the point is that the whole procedure must be coordinated in detail: a transplanted kidney is subject to ischemias when the pre-established times are not maintained, thus risking compromising a practice - that of the crossover transplant - which represents one of the elements that for these pathologies ensure the optimal condition of success.

The operation was to be performed on October 15 and the Varese had arrived in the hospital on the 8th for a series of preventive analyzes with respect to his clinical picture: "Now I'm waiting, I'm counting the hours, and I hope that everything will be successful" .

Padua is the center that by far performs the highest number of living transplants per year, at least 50, a practice that guarantees the best opportunity for patients.

Also in Padua, a unique program in the world has also been developed, also published in scientific journals relating to crossover transplants, a project that has now become national in scope: a hope for the over 7,000 people waiting for kidney transplantation in our country.
